Does a Google Play Gift Card Work in Bangladesh?
This is one of the most common questions we get, so here is a clear answer.
Short answer
In most cases, no. Google Play gift cards are issued for a specific country and can be redeemed only by accounts in that country. Google also checks your real location, so changing the account region or using a VPN does not reliably help.
Why codes get rejected
- The card's country does not match the country of your Google Play account.
- Google detects that you are actually in Bangladesh.
- Breaking Google Play's terms can lead to a code being deactivated.
What we recommend
If you are in Bangladesh, do not buy a Google Play US card. Read our Google Play notice first. For Apple users, iTunes gift cards are available in taka, and our guide explains how to use a US Apple ID.
